Drive S
Every Sony CD receiver shares a chassis (platform), designed to improve sound quality and durability. "Drive-S," as the chassis is known, includes the CD mechanism, audio stages, 12-volt power supply and tuner section- everything behind the faceplate.
Drive S HX
It's what's inside that counts. The new Drive-S HX chassis employs advanced high capacity audio capacitors in all of the Specialty Series CD receivers. Improving audio signal stabilization is crucial in reproducing the ambient nuances present in today's studio quality recordings.
Full-motion Flourescent (fl) Display
Stand out from the crowd and rock out with a Fluorescent (FL) display headunit. With 3D graphics flowing across the screen you've got the best show in town.
Front Auxiliary Input
Sony has made it easier than ever to connect almost any portable audio device to your car system! One little cable is all it takes and you can listen to your iPod, portable music player or portable DVD players through your Sony Xplod system. No need to mess around with FM modulators to listen to your MP3 player in the car. The auxiliary input is built right in to the face of the head unit. All you need to do is plug-n-play.
In-Dash Video
Just because you're on wheels, doesn't mean you can't have options. Bring movies, videos and games right in your car by installing an in-dash video monitor! Video is where it's at in mobile electronics. So be a leader, not a follower, and turn your car into a complete mobile entertainment system - with a sound system and video monitors to match!
Motion Blade
Stop dust dead in its tracks. A typical slot-load CD receiver is unprotected against the movement of air into the CD slot. Air-borne dust and particles can be carried into the CD mechanism. With the protection Motion Blade offers, airflow is stopped at the door and the associated dust and other particles are prevented from entering the CD mechanism. In the long run, this will increase the life of the CD mechanism and minimize any CD skipping associated with dust build up on the laser lens.
P5 Aluminum Cone
Sony has stepped up the P5 subwoofer design by adding Aluminum to the cone. With this addition, it allows for the subwoofer to hit with more force and more power, making it the most powerful weapon in your arsenal.
P5 Turbo
No bark in your subs? Tired of the same sorry-looking woofers? Sony has the cure with our P5 Series of subwoofers. While the shape is candy for the eyes, the real treat is for the ears.
Stream
Mercilessly punish your system with freakish power. Over-engineered for the toughest environments. Designed for the toughest critics. The Specialty Series Amplifiers pack a massive amount of power into a sleek, compact design.
Sub-Sonic Filter
You might think that the lower your subs will play, the better. But when the frequencies in question are below the threshold of human hearing, there's no point in sending them through the system. No one can hear them.
Synchro Flip
Stop dust dead in its tracks. The Synchro-Flip detachable face keeps the dust out until it's ready for use. Activate the face mechanism, and moving the face in a downward direction reveals the CD loading slot. The display remains visible. The control remains accessible. See it. Play it. Use it. Open or closed.
